As noted earlier we are learning and working hard. My brother said to hire a helper!
We need some painting done including some repair of doors. I can do that! But, I don’t want to do that. Hire someone, my wife insists. So I did.
We need some earth work done. I can do that! But, I don’t want to do that. Hire someone, I hear my brother yell in my ear. So I did.
We need to spread the poop pile. I can do that! And, I have and have again. But, I did purchase a manure spreader. So when I get the poop pile down I can start using the spreader to better fertilize the pastures.
We need some welding done. I can do that! I like to weld. However, my welder extension cord is too short. Must acquire an engine driven welder. I can do that! I like to study purchases and moan and groan about the cost. Look for a used one, wifey says. Yes dear, but a used one might fail - hint hint, I want a new welder. Still up for debate.
The key pieces of learning for me are:
‘Doesn’t matter how much you can do when you are behind from the beginning, you need help’
‘Don’t bite off more than you can chew’
‘Get help from experts’. Thank you to the cattleman, and the hay supplier, and the fellow who always volunteers to help.
Really impressed. My kids started by grooming and ended with a trail ride
